The job of renewing the track in the tunnel was completed over a couple of weeks in August. Most of the time the temperature outside was almost too hot but in the cool of the tunnel it was bliss. The track used was that acquired from Butterley late last year.

The tunnel is only used for storage - Motor Rail No.27 (MR5863/1934) ex-Joseph Arnold, Leighton Buzzard, is visible.
