Burt finds his wheels again
July 2011

Following the official opening of the De Witt Kilns by Prince Michael Of Kent, the Museum's president, the area has once more become accessible to Museum visitors. Included in the Amberley Industrial Railway Collection is "Burt", a standard gauge Motor Rail locomotive (No.9019) built in 1959 for Burt, Boulton and Haywood Timber at their Erith works in Kent. Now restored to working order, almost single handedly by volunteer Tony Johnson, "Burt" will be undertaking short demonstration runs at Railway Gala Weekend.

Here are a few images of the test runs which took place on Wednesday 6 July.
